How I Work
Estrangement brings pain, confusion, and a longing to make sense of what has happened.
My work offers a clear, compassionate framework for understanding these complex family ruptures.
Some people come needing insight, validation, and understanding. Others wish to explore new perspectives and possibilities for healing and connection—within themselves or with loved ones.
Both paths are valid.
All sessions are provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #9113) and are eligible for reimbursement through most extended health plans.
Estrangement Assessment — $495 (1.5 hours)
A single, focused consultation to orient, educate, and clarify.
This one-time session provides:
- A safe, judgment-free space to share your story and have it fully heard
- Insight into the dynamics of estrangement, including trauma, communication patterns, and readiness for change
- Normalization and relief from isolation or self-blame
- A brief written summary outlining key themes and recommended next steps
For many who are estranged—from a parent, child, sibling, or another loved one—this session offers the understanding they’ve been seeking.
For others, it becomes the starting point for deeper personal work.
Estrangement Support Package — $995
For those ready to move from understanding to meaningful change.
This package includes:
- The full 1.5-hour Estrangement Assessment
- Three additional 1-hour sessions, focused on healing, self-reflection, and relational readiness
- Guidance, feedback, or creation of one reach-out or amends letter — some clients prefer that I review existing letters and correspondence; others wish to craft a new message to a family member with my support
- Up to one hour of total correspondence for reviewing reflections or questions between sessions
The package offers structure, accountability, and ongoing support for those who wish to grow through estrangement—whether or not reconciliation is possible.
Additional Sessions — $225 / hour
For clients continuing after the package or returning for periodic support.
Insurance & Payment
All sessions are billed as individual counselling with an RCC and may be covered by extended health benefits.
Payment is required at the time of booking.
Receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement.
A Note on Readiness
This work is for those who are willing to look within and engage with the complexity of family pain.
There is no pressure to reconcile, and no judgment if reconciliation is not desired.
The only requirement is a genuine wish to understand and to grow.
